Free Range Goose & Guinea Eggs
When available, we have eggs for sale from our our geese and guinea hens. All our eggs are farm fresh and from free-range, sustainably raised birds. The cost is $4.50/dozen for the guinea eggs and $1.00 per egg for the goose eggs. The goose eggs are more expensive because they are not laid as often and beause of their size – about twice as big as an extra-large chicken egg.
Our guinea hen eggs are about the size of chicken eggs and have brown shells. The shells of the goose eggs are white.
The geese are Chinese Crested Weeder Cheese. They guard the other birds, as well as the rest of the farm. They also help eat the weeds in the vineyard.
Our guinea fowl help keep the insect population in check, including ticks!
No pesticides are used on our farm. All our birds are on pasture, antibiotic-free, and provided with certified organic grain.
